Tomorrow’s speech pathology experts from Edith Cowan University are providing hands-on assistance to children with speech and language challenges at the Y WA Baldivis Early Learning Centre. Partnering with the university, third-year speech pathology students are working under supervision to identify and assist developmentally vulnerable young children, with six children already identified during a 12-week pilot trial. The collaboration aims to provide early intervention to prevent children from falling behind in school, addressing the escalating demand for speech therapy services across WA and offering real-world experience to the students.
