The Coalition plans to introduce tax offsets to support an additional 350,000 small businesses if elected, with Peter Dutton announcing an “entrepreneurship accelerator” that includes tapered tax deductions for tech upgrades. This initiative, costing $214 million, aims to boost small businesses by providing a 75% tax offset on the first $100,000 of taxable income in the first year, tapering in subsequent years. Dutton also addressed various policies, including cuts to overseas migration and tax breaks for business lunches, while dismissing concerns over the Coalition’s polling status.
