Archaeologists in drought-stricken Iraq have uncovered 40 ancient tombs, believed to be over 2,300 years old and dating from the Hellenistic or Hellenistic-Seleucid period, near the Mosul Dam reservoir. The discovery, made possible by significantly lowered water levels, is part of ongoing efforts to excavate and preserve these sites before they are submerged again.
