Standard DDR4 DRAM prices surged dramatically in June 2025, with 8-gigabit units reaching $4.12 and 4-gigabit units at $3.14, the highest since July 2021, as ChangXin Memory Technologies reportedly shifted focus to DDR5 production for AI. Currently, DDR4 makes up 60% of desktop memory while major players Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron dominate 90% of the global DRAM market.
