Drake’s company, Frozen Moments LLC, has filed a petition in a New York court against Universal Music Group (UMG), alleging that the record company falsely inflated the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track ‘Not Like Us’ through manipulative tactics such as using ‘bots’ and pay-to-play agreements. The filing also claims that UMG and Spotify have a close business relationship, with UMG offering special licensing rates to Spotify for the song. UMG has denied the allegations, calling them “offensive and untrue.”
