Mr. Khan was reportedly stabbed by a Bangladeshi national living illegally in India, who has been arrested and is in police custody denying the allegations. Despite doubts raised by some individuals, including Sanjay Nirupam, the attack on Mr. Khan was confirmed by doctors at Lilavati Hospital, where he was treated for six stab wounds.
