Temporary barricades have been placed in front of the US Capitol ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 17, with the event being moved indoors due to dangerously cold weather. Trump cited severe record lows expected in Washington, D.C., with an Arctic blast sweeping the country as the reason for the change, stating on his Truth Social platform that he does not want to see people hurt or injured in any way.
