In response to the murders of Raneem Oudeh and her mother Khaola Saleem by Janbaz Tarin in 2018, the “Raneem’s Law” pilot program will embed domestic abuse specialists in the 999 control rooms of five police forces – West Midlands, Northumbria, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, and Humberside – with £2.2m in funding. The specialists will provide support for victims of domestic abuse by reviewing incoming calls, offering advice to responding officers, facilitating training sessions, and ensuring referrals to support services, aiming to prevent future tragedies and improve emergency responses to domestic abuse nationwide. Netflix will be making the show "Adolescence" available to all secondary schools in the UK through Into Film+, accompanied by guides from healthy relationships charity Tender.
