The Department of Justice has announced that they will not prosecute Attorney General Merrick Garland after he was held in contempt by House GOP members. The contempt charge came as a result of Garland’s refusal to turn over tapes of conversations between President Biden and a state governor. The DOJ cited executive privilege in their decision not to pursue charges against Garland.
