California Arson Suspect Used ChatGPT for Burning City Image

Federal law enforcement has arrested Jonathan Rinderknecht, a 29-year-old from Florida, for allegedly starting the Palisades Fire that killed 12 people and burned over 23,000 acres in January 2025. Evidence includes video surveillance, witness statements, cellphone records, and a ChatGPT-generated AI image depicting a burning city, which Rinderknecht reportedly created before the fire ignited.
