The Department of Justice has charged Dmitri Simes, a contributor to Channel One Russia, and his wife, Anastasia Simes, with violating U.S. sanctions and money laundering. The indictment, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, accuses them of participating in a scheme to benefit the Russian state-run TV channel and launder money obtained through that.
