Andrew Scott, known for his role as the hot priest on Fleabag, recently shared a humorous take on fans still watching the series five years later.
Joining Season 2 of the comedy series as Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s love interest, Scott has a message for those who continue to be obsessed with his character and the show.
“Go out and get some fresh air,” Scott jokingly told EW. “Stop watching. Stop crying. Stop crying in your room with your curtains closed. Do something better with your life. It’s a great show, we all love it, but come on now, pull yourself together. Open the curtains and go outside.”
Fleabag, a BBC Three co-production with Amazon Studios, ran for two seasons with a total of 12 episodes. The series, created and written by Waller-Bridge, was originally based on a one-woman show she performed at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Waller-Bridge’s character, known as Fleabag, is never named in the show. The series follows her as she navigates life in London as a single, free-spirited, and confused individual.
Featuring a talented cast including Sian Clifford, Olivia Colman, and more, Fleabag premiered on July 21, 2016, and concluded on April 8, 2019.
Waller-Bridge’s work on Fleabag earned her an Emmy in 2019 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, while the show itself won Outstanding Comedy Series that same year.
