Regions recover from bushfire damage

Recovery efforts are underway in Victoria, where bushfires have destroyed over 350 buildings and claimed at least one life, burning more than 400,000 hectares. Premier Jacinta Allan announced emergency relief for uninsured residents and emphasized the ongoing fire risk while recovery plans are implemented. Major fires are still active, yet conditions are improving for firefighting efforts. Authorities warn of a potential “heating event” at the end of January that could reignite fires.
