The death toll in a coal mine fire in southern Poland rose to three, with 16 miners injured at the Knurow-Szczyglowice coal mine when methane gas ignited 850 meters below ground level. Nine workers with severe burns were hospitalized, two of whom died from burns covering 80% of their bodies.
