Deadline for SASSA cards extended to March 20

The government has extended the deadline for social grant beneficiaries to swap their gold SASSA cards for new black Postbank cards to March 20, following concerns from recipients who couldn’t meet the initial deadline of February 28. The Ministers of Communications and Digital Technologies and Social Development announced the extension, ensuring grant payments will continue uninterrupted. Efforts are being made to assist beneficiaries efficiently, with increased human capacity and mobile offices deployed to rural areas, while collaboration with community leaders and local authorities aims to provide clear information and necessary assistance for a smooth transition.
