Quebec Man Released After 33 Years as Conviction Reviewed

Daniel Jolivet, who has spent over 33 years in prison for four murders he claims he did not commit, was granted release by Quebec Superior Court Justice Lyne Décarie while his case is reviewed by the federal government. The DPCP acknowledged that Jolivet may not have received a fair trial, prompting the review. He must reside in Verdun, consult a psychologist, and cannot leave Quebec during this period. If the review is unfavorable, he must return to prison within 48 hours.
