David Common appointed host of CBC’s Morning Live

Veteran reporter David Common will succeed Heather Hiscox as host of CBC Morning Live, following Hiscox’s final broadcast after 20 years in the role. Common aims to address the diversifying media landscape and maintain journalistic rigor while creating a more engaging and enjoyable show format. He has extensive experience in journalism, having reported from over 90 countries and held various hosting positions at CBC. Common will officially begin his role on February 2, 2026, after completing his tenure at Metro Morning.
