Danish police have closed the investigation into the fire that destroyed over half of Copenhagen’s Old Stock Exchange, ruling out criminal intent. Despite extensive forensic investigations and witness interviews, the cause of the fire could not be determined. The fire, believed to have started during renovation work, destroyed the 400-year-old building, prompting plans for a yearslong reconstruction effort following the April 2019 Notre Dame Cathedral blaze in Paris.
