Former soldier Daniel Khalife has been found guilty of spying for Iran while serving in the Royal Corps of Signals, collecting and passing secret information to agents of the Middle Eastern country. Despite being cleared of carrying out a bomb hoax, Khalife was convicted of breaching the Official Secrets Act and the Terrorism Act after creating and passing on fake and genuine army documents, and escaping from prison in a daring manner. The jury at Woolwich Crown Court deliberated for 23 hours before reaching their verdict, with Khalife maintaining a calm demeanor throughout the proceedings.
