Labour MP Dan Norris, mayor of the West of England, has been arrested on suspicion of rape and child sex offences, leading to his immediate suspension by the Labour Party. The 65-year-old defeated Jacob Rees-Mogg in the recent election and had previously served in parliament from 1997 to 2010. Avon and Somerset Police have arrested a man in his 60s for sexual offences against a girl, rape, child abduction, and misconduct in public office, with Mr. Norris also losing the party whip in the House of Commons.
