The Government delivered immigration reforms last Christmas, benefiting dairy farmers by simplifying the process for hiring migrant workers and extending visa durations. Changes include removing the requirement to pay migrant staff the median wage and extending visas for ANZSCO level 4 or 5 roles to three years. These adjustments will help alleviate staff shortages in the dairy sector and reduce costs for farmers, making it easier to attract overseas workers.
