Perplexity offers to buy Google Chrome for $35bn

Perplexity has made a $34.5 billion unsolicited offer to acquire Google’s Chrome as an antitrust remedy, claiming support from major venture capital funds. This follows a lawsuit against Google for its search dominance, with the possibility of a court-ordered divestment; however, Google considers the offer insincere and plans to appeal any remedies.
