BBC Radio Scotland broadcaster Bryan Burnett has announced a break from his programme to undergo treatment for appendiceal cancer, which he was diagnosed with after his appendix was removed earlier this year. At 59, Burnett described the cancer as “incredibly rare” but treatable, expecting a full recovery following complex abdominal surgery and chemotherapy.
