BBC Radio presenter takes break for cancer treatment

BBC Radio Scotland broadcaster Bryan Burnett has announced a break from his programme to undergo treatment for appendiceal cancer, which he was diagnosed with after his appendix was removed earlier this year. At 59, Burnett described the cancer as “incredibly rare” but treatable, expecting a full recovery following complex abdominal surgery and chemotherapy. During his recovery, presenter Grant Stott will fill in for Burnett on the early evening Get it On show.
