A diver is recovering in Southland Hospital after being bitten by what he and his dive buddy described as a great white shark in Tamatea Dusky Sound on Thursday.
The incident resulted in moderate injuries to the man’s calf. According to Maria Kuster, co-owner of Pure Salt Charters, the man is “recovering really well” and is hopeful to return home soon, though he has chosen not to be identified or speak to the media.
