A rediscovered version of the pilot episode of Thomas & Friends, narrated by Beatles drummer Sir Ringo Starr, will air for the first time since 1984.
The episode, titled Down The Mine, will be available online to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the beloved tank engine franchise.
Originally shot on 35mm film in 1983, this 40-year-old recording has been digitally restored and will be released on YouTube at 18:00 BST on Friday, marking a significant moment for fans of the series that began with a book in 1945 and transitioned to a TV show in 1984, continuing until 2021.
