Cyclist sets record by riding 612 miles in 24 hours

Matthew Lefthand, a 33-year-old marriage and family therapist, recently made history by becoming the first American and the second person globally to ride over 600 miles in a 24-hour time trial on an unfaired bicycle, completing 612.38 miles in Florida. Known as “Lefty,” he emphasizes breaking personal limits and honoring his Navajo heritage through his name change. Lefthand aims to surpass the current 24-hour distance record of 637.66 miles set by Christoph Strasser in 2021.
