Vauxhall owner to close Luton plant

Stellantis, the owner of Vauxhall, has announced the closure of its van making factory in Luton, risking 1,100 jobs. The company plans to consolidate its electric van production at its Ellesmere Port plant. The decision follows a warning in June that UK production may stop without increased government support for electric vehicle demand.
