'Sensitive' army papers found scattered in street

Confidential military documents containing soldiers’ ranks, emails, shift patterns, and weapon issue details were found scattered in Newcastle, posing a significant threat to individuals named in them. The papers, connected to British Army regiments and barracks at Catterick Garrison, included information on accessing weapons storage and an intruder detection system, with one document labeled “official – sensitive.” Information security consultant Gary Hibberd highlighted the potential risks of the leaked documents, which have since been handed to the Ministry of Defence for investigation.
