Sarkozy Sentenced to Jail for Campaign Financing Issues

Nicolas Sarkozy has become the first ex-French president to be incarcerated, beginning a five-year sentence for conspiring to fund his 2007 election campaign with Libyan money. Despite his appeal and claims of innocence, Sarkozy is serving time in La SantΓ© prison, where he will reside in isolation for safety, as more than 100 supporters rallied outside his Paris home.
