Liam Lawson received a five-second time penalty after the Formula One Miami Grand Prix sprint race, resulting in the loss of his points finish. Initially qualifying 14th, Lawson finished seventh in the 18-lap race, which was shortened due to rain, but was penalized for an incident involving Fernando Alonso, who crashed in the final laps. Consequently, Lawson was relegated to 13th place, explaining post-race that he was attempting to overtake Alonso, who was on cold tires, early in the lap.
