An inquest at the High Court has deemed the use of lethal force by SAS soldiers as unjustified in the 1992 shooting of four IRA men in County Tyrone. The men were killed in an ambush at Clonoe shortly after carrying out a gun attack on a police station, with the soldiers firing more than 500 rounds without warning as the men arrived at a church car park in a hijacked lorry. The ruling highlights the controversial circumstances surrounding the incident during the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
