Performer Collapses on Stage and Survives

Lionel Duke, the drummer for The Christians, expressed gratitude for his life after collapsing on stage from a cardiac arrest during the On The Waterfront festival in Liverpool this past June. Medics quickly assisted him as the band performed before Sting’s headlining act, and he was subsequently placed in an induced coma in intensive care. At 58 years old, Duke recalled the incident, stating, “Everyone thought I was going to die,” and expressed shock and blessing at his survival.
