Court orders mental-health assessment for woman accused of killing spree

In a Toronto court, Sabrina Kauldhar, facing multiple murder charges, has been ordered to undergo a mental-health assessment after prosecutors raised concerns about her fitness to stand trial. Kauldhar, 30, is accused of one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder, with the assessment requested by the prosecution and approved by Ontario Court Justice Edward Kelly due to doubts about her mental state. Despite defense lawyers initially seeking the assessment, they later withdrew their application at Kauldhar’s request, as she opposes it.
