Costco and Amazon fitness product sold almost 4,000,000 times recalled over broken bones

Johnson Health Tech Trading has recalled approximately 3.8 million BowFlex 552 and 1090 Adjustable Dumbbells due to safety concerns after over a hundred injury reports, including broken bones. The recall was initiated because the weight plates can dislodge from the handle during use, posing an impact hazard, with 12 reports of plates coming loose but no injuries reported by Johnson. Customers are advised to stop using the dumbbells immediately and contact Johnson Health Tech Trading for refunds or replacements, as BowFlex Inc filed for bankruptcy in March 2024.
