The conference of associations of local and regional authorities from the Council of Europe’s 46 member states, which began on 12 September, focuses on their role in addressing challenges facing European democracies, supporting Ukraine, protecting human rights, saving the environment, and engaging young people. Marc Cools, President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, opened the conference.
