Colombia's defense minister vows to recover 29 kidnapped law enforcement officers

Colombian Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez condemned the kidnapping of 29 law enforcement officers in the country’s southwest region by supporters of the armed group Carlos Patiño, who are dissidents of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The officers, including 28 police officers and one soldier, were kidnapped in the El Plateado region and are in good physical condition, being fed and able to move within a confined space. President Gustavo Petro warned of using military force if the group is not released soon.
