A former Big Ten volleyball coach, Brett Agne, received a two-year show-cause order from the NCAA for making impermissible bets on professional and collegiate sports, totaling over $327,000 across more than 700 wagers. Agne, previously an assistant coach for Indiana’s women’s volleyball team, placed 27 bets on Hoosiers football and men’s basketball but did not bet on Indiana volleyball. Although NCAA rules will soon allow betting on professional sports, wagering on college sports remains banned. If hired by a college program, Agne must serve a 10-game suspension and complete sports betting education.
