The Chicago area is bracing for potentially record-breaking cold temperatures as Arctic air moves in, with lows expected to drop below zero on Monday and Tuesday. Before the frigid temperatures hit, a brief warm-up is forecasted for Thursday and Friday, with highs reaching the 30s and even low-40s, making it the warmest of the year so far. However, temperatures will plummet over the weekend, with lows reaching minus-5 degrees on Sunday night and potentially dropping even further on Monday, making it the coldest Chicago has seen in years.
