The Community Work Programme’s Kwa-Thema cluster is rejecting COGTA’s decision to dismiss workers aged 55 and older, leaving thousands without employment by the end of January. The workers are protesting the unfair treatment and questioning where they will find jobs and how they will support their families. Despite the department’s explanation of budget cuts leading to the contract non-renewals, the CWP members are urging COGTA to reconsider their decision.
