Seven killed in South Sudan hospital and market bombing, charity says

At least seven people were killed and 20 injured when helicopter gunships bombed a hospital and local market in Old Fangak, Jonglei state, South Sudan, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF), which runs the hospital. This attack, deemed a “clear violation of international humanitarian law,” comes amid escalating tensions between President Salva Kiir and Vice-President Riek Machar, raising fears of a return to civil war. The conflict, which has already caused significant casualties and displacement since 2013, is compounded by recent military threats and clashes involving militia groups.
