Islamabad, Pakistan – In a significant move for the cryptocurrency sector, Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, has been appointed as an adviser to Pakistan’s newly established Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), aimed at developing a regulatory framework to embrace digital currencies. This appointment reflects Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government’s shift towards innovation in crypto, following years of hesitation, as they seek to position Pakistan as a regional hub for digital finance. With an estimated 15 to 20 million crypto users in Pakistan, the government aims to legalize and regulate the sector to harness its potential for economic growth.
