Accounts of “clean-up crews” have emerged online, referring to groups of older men waiting outside UK nightclubs to target drunk young women leaving. These men, often in luxury cars, are known for their persistent and predatory tactics, isolating women and offering them drugs or extravagant promises to lure them. Despite universities promoting safety initiatives, many students feel that these incidents are normalized, leading to reluctance in reporting. Social media, while warning against such dangers, also showcases these practices, complicating perceptions of safety in nightlife.
