WH Smith, a UK town centre staple since the Victorian era, is set to disappear from the High Street after agreeing to sell its shops to Modella Capital. The new owner will rebrand the stores as TGJones, retaining Post Office and Toys “R” Us outlets. WH Smith will now focus solely on its travel-related business, operating over 1,200 stores in 32 countries.
