Residential school demolished on Vancouver Island

The Christie Residential School’s last buildings on Meares Island, B.C., were demolished in a ceremony attended by survivors seeking healing from their traumatic past. Among them was Thomas Rush, who wore a Vancouver Canucks hat and expressed that witnessing the demolition was a step towards reconciliation and closure.
