Chinese counter-tariffs to kick in as Trump threatens more to come

Chinese tariffs on U.S. products are set to take effect in retaliation to U.S. tariffs, with tensions escalating between the two countries. The Chinese tariffs range from 10% to 15% and target products like crude oil, natural gas, and farm machinery. China also announced an antitrust investigation into Google and added U.S. companies to a blacklist. Experts see this as a warning shot from China, signaling that they can make things difficult for the U.S. if tensions worsen. China is currently keeping the effective tariff rate on American imports much lower than what the U.S. imposed on Chinese imports, but the situation remains tense.
