China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi declared that relations between China and Brazil are at their “best in history” during a phone call with Brazilian FM Mauro Vieira, amidst Brazil’s consideration of retaliatory trade measures against the US due to high tariffs imposed by Trump. Wang emphasized strengthening ties within BRICS to protect developing countries’ interests, as Brazil seeks to coordinate a response with China and India to US trade actions.
