China says it hopes to 'properly manage differences' with the U.S. on trade

China is emphasizing its willingness to negotiate with the United States as increased tariffs on exports loom, with U.S. President Donald Trump considering a 10% duty hike on Chinese goods by Feb. 1. The White House is also planning to investigate China’s actions harmful to U.S. commerce. China’s Ministry of Commerce is in communication with U.S. authorities, hoping for dialogue, cooperation, and the stable development of economic and trade relations under the strategic guidance of both countries’ leaders.
