Dozens of rabbits found dead in Worcestershire wood had a contagious form of hepatitis, Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease, causing internal bleeding and sudden death. At least 100 rabbits were discovered dead or dying, with 60 rescued and 40 bodies handed to the RSPCA for testing. The disease can be easily transmitted to other pets, surviving for months in any environment, according to the Rabbit Welfare Fund.
