Trump administration reverses termination of visas for foreign students

The Trump administration has announced the restoration of visas for approximately 1,800 foreign students whose legal statuses were abruptly terminated, following over 100 lawsuits from affected individuals. The Justice Department is developing a new system for visa review, as many students had their statuses revoked due to political protests or prior criminal charges, causing widespread fear in universities. Although records in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System are being restored, ICE retains authority to terminate records for other reasons, leaving ongoing concerns for students’ immigration status.
