CF Montréal signs defender Joel Waterman to three-year extension

CF Montréal signed Canadian international centre back Joel Waterman to a three-year contract extension through 2027, with an option for the 2028 season. Waterman, who joined Montreal from Cavalry FC in January 2020, played 2,131 minutes in 25 games this season, making 24 starts. The 28-year-old from Langley, B.C., became the first player to transfer from a Canadian Premier League club to Major League Soccer.
